  • Trial interstim success

When I found this site, I was in search of any information I could find on the interstim to help with my IC symptoms.
I have had the trial stim for one week now. The week has not been pleasant with all of the tape and wires but Praise God it has brought relief.:woohoo:
Before my stim I went pee between 25 - 30 times a day now I go about 8 - 12 times a day! cut in half even on the first day of the stim!
Each of us are different and results will always be different.
However, if you are praying about getting the interstim and need to hear a positive word ... I am grateful to give you one.
The stim has lessened my frequency, my urgency, and to a mild extent my pain.
I am planning my surgery for a permanent implantation of the interstim today!
    God Bless,
    Georgia L

*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

                          Hello Georgia!

Im so happy to hear of your success! :woohoo: I have a couple of questions for you if you dont mind. Does the stim help with pressure at night? Does it make you feel like your bladder is actually empty after you pee?

                          Thanks!!

                          Erika

Hi Erica... yes it did help with the pressure feeling and yes praise the Lord it really did help with feeling like I was empty and not having to sit and push and drip and push and drip... I don't miss the wires and I don't want surgery ... but it will be worth it all to get the stim in permanently. I am keeping faith it will really help in the long run!
