  • Interstim Trial on the 14th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I have a ??

Ok I'm going in one week after Yvette and greatly anticipating her results this Friday....

I am really scared but really excited.
I don't think I have prepared myself for the pain though. My doc said I could take a pain med before hand. I don't have any. Should I ask him for one?

Did any of you feel sexually stimulated by the interstim during the trail?

What kind of pain killer won't make me sick to my stomach or nauseated? I've never been given a pain killer before and I don't want to be sick during the trial?

    Kara,
Call your Dr now and ask for a pain med. If you get it now, you can test it before procedure to see if it makes you nauseous. I took vicodin for pain and valium for anxiety. It helped me tremendously.
I didn't have any sexual stimulation during procedure or trial.
Good luck with trial and keep us posted on how it's going.
    take care,
    Melanie

Gee, I wish I could feel sexually stimulated, boy that would of been something LOL..
I did not have any medication, but everyone of us handle pain in different ways also!!
Good luck and I will also be waiting for your posting on how you did on the trial ok Kara!!!

No sexual stimulation for me. I didn't take pain meds, but didn't feel I needed it.

          Good luck!

            Hi
I have had two trials one in June
and one I am in the middle of right now.
The first one I was not allowed to take any pain meds...this time I insisted. I cannot say it really helped with the pain....but it did make me less nervous and more relaxed.

I think everyone is so different with their pain meds..so ask your doctor what would be a good one that does not cause stomach upset or nausea. Also, request a fluoroscope (xray) be used for the procedure...it helps them locate the nerves quicker. And a catheter is a very helpful thing too, then you won't have to worry about peeing or pressure during the test because you cannot get up...once they get you prepped.

Good luck and feel free to email me
