  • APPLING FOR DISABILITY W/INTERSTIM

    HI! OUT THERE...

My husband is concerned with my choice of trying the interstimy; even if there is a possibility of improving Quality of Life. Or what is it makes things worse.

He feels that if I get it done it will decrease my chance of getting any type of disability that I'm currently entitled to if I were to apply.

Has any one applied for disability and/or was denied because the interstim improved there condition.

Should I apply for disability first and try interstim later... <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[banghead]" />

Having the implant does NOT cure your IC. Yes, it does cut down your potty trips, for me about 30% but I still do not sleep due to pain. My quality of life sucks due to pain. EVERYTHING in my life, and I mean EVERYTHING revolves around pain. I just had my 1st review in late winter and was upgraded from being reviewed every 2-3 years to occassionally so I'm guessing that my implant really didn't have much to do in the decision.

What ever you decide to do....wishing you the VERY VERY best~

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".
