  • Would appreciate the help!

    Hi,

I was wondering if all of you that have had the implant showed even better results after the implant than from the trial. In other words was your frequency even less after the surgery than it was with the trial?

I was also wondering if anyone has noticed an improvement with any irritible bowel problems they may have HAD AFTER THE SURGERY.
I have terrible diarrhea (sorry for visual)and was hoping the interstim might help it.
I have heard it has helped constipation but I don't have that.

Just so you know I have already been approved for the surgery however I am still deciding if I want the surgery because I didn't have a great improvement in symptoms.

    Thank you for your help

I didn't have much of a change from the trial and the actual implant. Now, I don't have IBS, that I know of, but my doctor told me that there is a connection in the pelvic floor nerves . So, it does help with the regulating bowel movements. I did find that I am not as constipated now.

      Hi Jodi:
I have improved 100% from the InterStim Implant, but as I have said so many times, ( I think everyone is sick of hearing this to, haha )
I do not have Ic , but PFD..
I am able to pee all on my own now , I am not using a catheter anymore.
My frequency is really good now and as for as bowel movements that has also improved too!!
I wish you well on whatever you decide to do Jodi..

      Debbie

The permanent implant did not improve my frequency any better than the trial. Actually the trial results were slightly better. I wish you luck in your decision I know it is a hard one that I asked myself a lot before and even now I wonder if it was worth it. I saw the doctor last week and had urodynamics tests done again. This produced no answers so the doctor said he is satisfied. My bladder holds about 75 ml- 100 during the day. This is up from 50 ml before the implant.
