  • Pain at hip joint

I got my interstim place aprox 2 weeks ago. I was doing fine till I started back to work. I am a nurse and work 12 hr shifts so I am on my feet most of the time. I only work 1-2 days a week. Well anyway I have worked 2 shifts since my interstim placement. By my 10 hr yesterday I was limping on the side with my interstim because my hip joint was hurting and burning so bad.. It does not really hurt over the exact implant site just at my hip joint. Did any one else experience this type of pain and if so did it go away?? I started taking vioxx ( antiinflamatory) this AM to see if it would help. I would like any suggestions and feedbak from those who have the implant.

    Thanks,

    Kelly

I WOULD GET HOLD OF YOUR DOCTOR THAT PUT IT IN. MAYBE THE LEAD HAS MOVED? ARE YOU STILL FEELING THE STIMULATION WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN? BUT I WOULD CALL YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO TELL HIM. DEBORAH

The lead is on the left hand and and the implant is on the right so I do not think that is the problem.

what I had for the first month was a lot of buttock burning... I don't know why, it was at the end of the day after I walked, etc, and did not rest.
It went away after 4 or 6 weeks post op.

I had pain also and burning for about the first 2 months. The pain did go away. If it does not go away, call your uro to get reprogrammed. Also, turn down the implant and little and see if that helps some with the burning and pain.

          Good Luck

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I am just 2 week post op so I guess I should give myself time to heal. It is burning so bad it kept me awake last night. I finally had to take some pain meds to help it stop. If it is not wone thing it is another with this stupid IC.

Are you trying to do too much too early? My uro
did not want me to bend or lift for 4 weeks so the
lead would definately heal into place & not move.
I would contact your doc. Best Wishes.
