I was rear-ended fairly hard (pushed my front bumper underneath the car in front) while stopped in traffic. I had whiplash, which was not surprising. The airbags did not deploy. A couple of days after the accident, I started having numbness in both hands & both feet. I have been through months of physical therapy & am much improved, but still have numbness, especially in my right foot (the side of my Interstim). The numbness is on the outside of my foot & up my calf a little, which is annoying during the day, but stops me from going to sleep some nights, or wakes me up. The sleep disruption has become a serious problem for me. The numbness comes & goes & I can't see any pattern to it. Testing has revealed nothing.
I went to my uro who said he didn't think the numbness was related to the Interstim, but he didn't do much before rendering that opinion. Has anyone experienced numbness as a result of the Interstim that fits this description? It seems like it's on the wrong nerve to be the Interstim, but I'm not sure. I'm trying to figure out how to settle the auto accident claim with respect to the numbness, but don't know what to do.
