Well, I'm down to a week...my interstim trial is next Friday. I am just SO ready to get in there and get it over with. As most of you know, I have spent this past week in Boston. (translation: my hubby had a business trip, so I tagged along and have spent most of the week snuggled in the comfy bed watching crazy court shows on tv). I thought it would be good to get away and help take my mind off the surgery.
We are heading home on Saturday, and I am looking forward to it. I have had a lot of surgeries (I should have a frequent OR visitor card!), and before every surgery, I "nest." I clean up the house really well and get things just the way I want them for when I walk in the house after surgery. It always makes me feel better to do that, even though my hubby will do whatever needs to be done. But, for some reason, the nesting makes me feel better, so I just do it!
Jen's diaries have been really helpful to me. I am a bit less nervous about the surgery. Actually, I'm not really nervous about the procedure, but whether or not the device will work, and as far as that goes, I can only wait and see.
So, when I get home and begin to "nest," is there anything that you guys can think of that I should do? I have already ordered some IC-friendly cookies from the IC shop, and I got the IC ribbon tattoo (okay, I know that has nothing to do with nesting, but it's cool and it's healing right along, as is hubby's)...once I get home I will stock the cabinets with "comfort food." I also remember Jen mentioning a pillow for riding or driving...can anyone tell me, are we talking about just one of those little cushy square pillows?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I have a tip for readers...I just finished a book called Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was a quick, easy read and gave me some good laughs this week. And, it's apparently a series, so I can go get another to maybe read while recovering. Anyway, if you enjoy fiction and want something that is kind of silly and not something that's real "heavy", this is great!!! I will warn you, though...it's set in London, so some of the terms are different than ours, but my watching a couple of great BBC America shows really paid off for understanding the slang!
Thanks for everyone's support during my pre-interstim worries!! I love you guys for everything you do for one another!!!
