  • I have WIRES

I have my trial unit and am in the process of trying to get my desires stregnth set. My urgency is almost completely gone!!!
    :woohoo:
My doc however didnt give me pain meds until i begged and got Loritab as needed. Now I am worried about what will happen after the permanent one. It doesnt hurt as bad as I thought but it does hurt. Havent done a voiding diary yet- Cant wait to see. If anyone has any questions, I am willing to answer them if I can.

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

**I am not a medical authority nor do I offer definitive medical advice. I strongly encourage you to discuss your medical treatment with your personal medical care provider. Only they can, and should, give medical recommendations to you.

I bet once you start the voiding diary, you will REALLY see the difference, it will be right there on paper in front of you! So glad that things are going well. Rest up!!!

The funny thing is, whenever I get up I still go run to the bathroom out of habit. Good thing is there was an hour and a half between my last 2 pottys!:woohoo: I just began my journal not great voids but I am sure they will get better.

Ok so in the last 5 minutes, in the process of getting ready for bed, I have managed to drop "Maurice" (my test unit), and to get a wire caught on a door knob! Oh my, this may be a pain... Good news, havent been to the potty in a few hours.

Oh and check this out. When I pee, I actually do not have the sensation that I immediatly need to again! UNBELEIVABLE!!! It has been 8 years since that was my norm.

how awsome. I know I was in heaven when I first got mine.. I was counting how long it had been since I went. I wore sweats and stuffed the wires in my pants.. I dropped mine to and my heart stopped... glad that the wire was long enough..

Sorry you are having anxiety troubles. I know that's no fun at all. Easier said than done, but try and relax, maybe read or watch tv, do something to keep your mind off the anxiety. Sorry your doc didn't give you meds to help with this.

I remember one time when I had my "wires". I accidentally turned it up too high. It had caught on something. I was so "shocked" that I couldn't think so I couldn't move fast enough. Luckily my hubby was right there so he was able to turn it down.
