  • At what stage do you need TENS?

I have had IC for 5 years and so far have not responded to any treatment. I take Vicoden and Lorcet for pain and I am scheduled to have 6 weeks of DMSO treatments. What I would like to know from some of you veterans to this horrible disease, at what stage did you use TENS and what is it exactly? You can respond here or email me at [email protected]
    Thanks and much love to all! <img src="graemlins/grouphug.gif" border="0" alt="[grouphug]" />

You'll find information on the TENS units if you go to the "Browse our Site" menu and click on shop - books and more.

I would use 1 TENS unit at just about any stage of IC. It really helps with my bladder. My only regret is that I did not try it sooner.

This is one of the first things I'm going to ask about at the pain clinic.

I, too, have found pain relief from TENS. I use all four on the front as well, but will use two on the back in the evening. I find that it can completely relieve severe pain during a flare, but won't necessarily get rid of a flare. Just helps get through it. I typically like to try non-invasive therapies first, so... Thanks, lesley
