    Lowered My Doxepin dosage, now in a great deal of Pain!

    I just lowered my dosage of Doxepin and am now in a great deal of pain!

    I was at 20mg a year ago and it was working just fine, however I was having some anxiety and drepression so my therapist recommended upping my dosage to 30mg...

    I have been emotionally feeling pretty good, so decided to lower my dosage back to 20mg, and now my pain is significantly worse back at my original 20mg.... I don't understand this.

    Has this happend to anyone else? I wonder if I will ever be able to get back to 20mg now.

    Dec 2005
    Diagnosis:
    IC
    Cysto/Hydro:
    Dec 2005
    Other Conditions:
    Anxiety, Insomnia, Chronic Sinusitis, Bursitis of the hip, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, PFD, Inflamitory Arthritis of the neck, Allergy to Yeast and Dairy
    Meds for IC:
    Prosed/DS as needed which works much better for me than Pyridium, Prelief, Coffee Tamer, Claritin 5mgs and sodium bicarb as needed.
    Alternative Treatments
    Physical therapy for 8 weeks, Acupuncture (just started).
    Other Meds:
    Skelaxin (as needed)
    Didn't work:
    Detrol LA (didn't help symptoms), Pyridium 200mg isn't working very well anymore.
    Tried:
    Elmiron (Major Dizziness), Hydrodistention (Greatly exacerbated IC symptoms), Urised (hard time breathing), Ditropan (bladder pain the next day), Rescue Instillations - Lidocane, sodium bicarb (all over body rash with itching),

      Ask your doc about getting back to the higher dosage or try a new treatment \. I wish you the best and let us know how it is going for you God Bless.

          I just went back up to 30mg last night begrudgingly... hopefully the pain will subside in a few days. I was just really hoping I could down the dosage as I hate taking more medication then is necessary. :/
