  • trading sleepiness, weight gain and no pain for ....

Regular doc put me on Remeron for my depression. I thought my bladder pain had gone away and it was just associated with my surgery and not IC like uro/gyn thought.

I quit remeron because of sleeping 12+ hours a night and 20 pound weight gain in 4 weeks. My pain came back with a vengeance....after seeing me on narcotics for 3 days, dh said,"go back on it!
    "

So i go to doc today and he says to try Imipamine at night and PristiQ in day time. I am really scared of being a medical guinea pig. But i can't function sleeping all the time either.

So anyone had any luck with either of these? bad things?

I've been on Imipramine for over 8 years. I take 25 mgs. each morning and 50 mgs. at bedtime. It is a tricyclic anti-depressant that is sometimes utilized in helping children who are bedwetters. They have found it useful in patients with IC. It helps with pain, and I've experienced no weight gain.

    I also take:

    Enablex 15 mgs.
    Atarax 50 mgs. at bedtime
Urelle 3 to 4 times daily

    Fish Oil
    Glucosamine
    Chondroitin
    MSM
    Calcium Citrate
    Magnesium
    Vitamin D3
    Vitamin E
    Zinc

Something to keep in mind: all meds have possible side-effects that people may or may not experience. Meds that cause drowsiness, for example. After your body adjusts to the medication, the side-effects diminish and/or completely disappear.
