  • Noritriptyline and palpitations

I guess I just can't take it. I am only taking 10mg but am getting heart palpitations, that feeling where you can "feel" your heart beating. When I went to the doc today my BP was 148/70, it is usually 110/60! I wasn't feeling nervous or anything.

Do all the antidepressants cause this? Is it just a side effect of the tri cyclics? Is it worth trying others?

Not all antidepressants will cause this, but you definitely need to get in touch with your doctor.

I emailed him, (a rheumatologist actually prescribed this for my hips) and luckily see him on Friday. I was wondering why I was feeling so spacey today! Its like it built up in my system over the 2 weeks and got worse over time.

I noticed that Doxepin (tricyclic) elevated my heart rate and caused an irregular heart beat for me... however I really don't think that it is the case with all antidepressants.

I think medications do different things to different people, and some dont experience any side effects. Just depends on the person.
