  • Elavil

Anyone know how long it takes Elavil to get out of your system? I decided to go off it for awhile to see if some of my recent anxiety and itching are an allergic reaction to the medicine.

I was only able to take it for a few days due to a rare side effect (it made me hyper), but my blood pressure went back down within 48 hours after stopping it.

Thanks Donna....now that I've been off the Elavil for 3-4 days, the anxiety has diminished and the itching has calmed. I guess that med is just not for me. Although based on all the reading I've done, it seems that very few meds provide complete relief. Seems as though a strict diet and Prelief are the constants. Hopefully something new will come soon.

        Donna,

I also wanted to follow-up and thank you for your feedback on this forum. I had my first symptom in November and fortunately was diagnosed in December. Afterwards, i stumbled on this site and have been glued to it ever since. Throughout the past several months, I've continually read through the posts and the feedback you provide is always supportive, caring, and informative. Please know that your efforts are appreciated on this site to those of us that are trying to get information on the condition. You truly are a blessing.

        Thanks again,
        Toby
