Wow, that isn't fair at all! I am sorry that you have that high of a co-pay. Have you tried the natural version cystaprotek or one of the others? I saw your other post about the effexor, from what I was told, the cymbalta works better for pain. I think the savella might even work the best. They are all in the same class of drugs but with your co-pay situation the effexor might be most cost effective for you.

I wish you the best. I know that we all have ups and downs with IC and it is hard. You might want to look into some counselling. I know it helped me a lot. It is nice to let it all out with someone you don't have to live with! lol Please watch yourself and don't let yourself get too depressed and if you need a good long cry go ahead and do so, sometimes it is the best medicine.

Thank you for your kind words. I haven't tried Elmiron yet because of the cost $500, my insurance only pays $50 towards the cost and I just can't afford it.

I take cymbalta and I do feel that it helped my IC pain somewhat. For my fibromyalgia it has been wonderful. Cymbalta has been found to help chronic pain, so it might just be worth a try.

Don't lose faith, there is no cure....yet. But there are many treatments and it can take a long time to try all of them and find the one that gives you relief. Have you decided not to try Elmiron? I notice it isn't on your list of meds.

Don't ever let IC win over your spirit, it is perfectly understandable that you are feeling defeated but let yourself grieve and then try your best to get back up fighting for your health! That is what I am trying to do daily.

    Cymbalta

Has anyone tried Cymbalta? It's an SSNRI and my doctor said it would help with pain. I'm already taking Wellbutrin which doesn't do much for me anymore and my depression is getting worse. It's hard to get out of bed every morning, been suffering for so long - I'm losing faith....there is no cure for IC.
