Does Venlafaxine make you tired?

I stated on Venlafaxine a week ago. It's the generic for Effexor. I was on Effexor a few years ago and I liked it. It didn't resolve my pain issues but it made it easier for me to cope. This Venlafaxine seems to be making me extremely tired! I can barely stay awake. I took it last night along with Nortrel (birth control) and it made me almost throw up this morning. I am stuggling with work and I feel weak. I am going to skip the Ven. today but try to take it tonight. I'm supposed to take it twice a day.
