Celebrex is an anti-inflammatory drug. It belongs to the COX-2 inhibitor group of drugs. Vioxx is another COX-2 inhibitor. Celebrex is FDA approved for osteoarthritis, adult rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and painful period cramps. Celebrex helps relieve joint stiffness, swelling, and pain. The highest daily dose of Celebrex is normally 400mg. Most people take 100mg or 200mg per day.
Jamie, You could ask your Doc if this is one of the inflammatories which has been linked to heart problems. If you are a young woman, this probably isn't a big deal....i just always try and find out if meds are on a warning list, or othr watch list... I am not too up on all the meds and what is said about them, but it sounds like one I have read about online in the last few months.
Good luck with your new med and I hope it helps you feel better~ I am trying new meds for the forth time; I believe!
