I'm not. I started back on my allergy shots one year ago and that has helped me more than anything. Best of luck!

If you have Singulair a Doctor must have given it to you. It is not sold OTC. So please don't trust me, trust your Doctor. I never had one problem with it but I don't need to tell you, we are so much different. I have had three Doctors tell me Singulair is particular to IC over anything like it. What side effects have you heard about? I'm kind of out of the loop and have not read about side effects and Singulair. If you are rather comfortable and not in great pain why take anything that makes you nervous. Having IC is hard enough without being concerned about something you feel you may not need. I wish you the best and hope you will talk with your Doctor about your concerns. Hug, Ziggy

    Hello Zygala87,
I am holding a bottle of Singulair in my hand and thinking about trying it for the first time...I'm hesitant because of potential side effects. I have mild IC and Non allergic rhinitis...are you still taking Singulair? Do the side effects dissipate?
    Thanks!

I took singulair for a few months, and it unfortunately didn't help me at all. I didn't have any side effects, but no benefits either. I'm also very sensitive to medications, so when I started hydroxizine (generic atarax), I had to start at 5 mg and work up to 10. I was extremely tired until I got used to it, but it has been a big help. I take it in the evenings, and it helps calm my frequency through the next morning.

I take singular before I go to bed each night. I'm told it helps with the mast cells in our bladder. I saw a URO only once and this is the med he said to take and explained why. I have had no problems with it at all. I'm not sure it helps me but I have more good days then bad so will continure to take it right now. Hug, Ziggy

I tried this, I don't think it helpped IC as much as hydroxizine.

I too am very sensative to meds, it took me a bit to figure it out, it gave me real wicked nightmares, when I went back to my Dr. and told him I thought it was causing nightmares he said that explains a lot.

His young son was on it and could not talk well enough to say what was happening but after he started taking it he too started to have bad nightmares.

    How about Singulair?

My allergist suggested Singulair for bladder relief as well as allergies. This is one I haven't tried. I am highly sensitive to meds and their ingredients. What have others experienced taking Singulair. Has it helped with IC or made it worse? How well was it tolerated? Side effects? Has anyone taken 1/2 dose? I have samples but have not taken it yet.

    Thanks All!
