  • question about hydroxyzine

I just started it two nights ago. I take 1/4 of a 25 mg tablet. The first night I was nice and sleepy. Last night I lay awake for a few hours then finally got to sleep but had to take other stuff to help sleep. Does anyone find that it actually keeps them awake? How long before you know if it's going to help with IC pain? What about the vivid wild dreams? Does that go away? I hope so!

I had the exact same thing happen when I tried the Atarax. The first time I used it I felt nice and drowsy and slept well and the next night (and every other time after) I ended up with insomnia and felt agitated. I had to switch to Benadryl, or take the Atarax in the morning.

oh man I know the vivid dreams are something hey!? lol I could explain my dreams in full detail the first week I started on it.

Im not sure what atarax is doing for me really other than keeping me asleep! lol. I have not noticed much, but the sleep is sure nice!!

I just took my 25 mg tonight and right now I am pretty awake! But once I start to fall asleep it really helps alot. Maby you would benifet from a whole 25mg tablet?

      28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

      Me in my graduation gown!
