  • Taken Ditropan, Detrol, Sanctura, Enablex, Vesicare

I have taken five of the overactive bladder drugs, Ditropan, Detrol, Sanctura, Enablex and Vesicare. My other option is the newer drug, Toviaz. The drugs mainly helped me stop peeing so much and relaxed my bladder muscle. I have been on these different medications for about 7-8 years. The majority of the medications helped but some of them loss their effectiveness after years of use. Was wondering, do you think it is common that some of these medications would lose its effectivness over time?

By the way, after the medication stopped working, the doctor would switch me to another overactive bladder medication. The doctor stated that drugs do act differently.

There are several smooth muscle antispasmodics that you still haven't tried. The ones that come to my mind are urispas and hyoscyamine --- both have worked well for me.

Have you been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis? Are you following an IC diet? The diet can be a real help. You'll find the link to the latest food list in my signature below.

    Sending warm welcoming hugs,

One doctor did a cytoscopy and in his opinion, I was in the beginning stages of Intersitital Cystitis. That is what he wrote on his notes. I am only experiencing frequent urination.

These medications when they are working really helped in the quality of my life. I remember when they stopped working and I was so miserable and depressed; I had to pee so much.
