  • Oxytrol Patch

    Hi ,
I have been using the Oxytrol Patch for a little over a month.. I change it twice a week.. It certainly has less side affects then the pills.. But my question .. is it something that will take time to be affective and help? or should the results be almost immediately?
    Thanks.

Hi, I am using the patch too. It helped me right away within a day or two but I have to admit its not as good as the pills, its kinda in between nothing and the pills. I'm hoping the combination of the patch along with the 10mg nortriptyline that I just started will do the trick as it also relaxes the bladder and my uro said could be taken together, (pharmacist too).
Its such a trade off, the side effects or the more effectiveness of the pills. The side effects with all that dryness are totally unacceptable to me with my dry eye syndrome, they not only blurred my vision but they made it hard to wear my contacts which I can only wear for 6-8 hours a day as is.
I have read before of people wearing two but not sure how much more it would help. Just a thought. Maybe a question to ask your uro.

I have pingucula on eyes so I have to use drops.. I have a dry mouth but we burn wood so that could be that but also the meds. I have been getting the DMSO treatments - 2x so far and it is every two weeks.. but I am still not noticing a huge difference.. I would give anything for a sleep of more then two hours a stretch lol..

I was so hoping that the Oxytrol would be the answer..

Are you taking amitriptyline? alot of people have said it reduced their nighttime frequency issues incredibly. I think Katie here said she went from 60 to 20 in one night.

I take Sinequan and have for years..which is a trycyclic antidepressant..very small dose though. I am wondering if something else would work better..I hate to change though and deal with other side affects...Waiting for an app. for a cysto Hydro - Had one 6-7 years ago.. the wait can be easily 6 months here..I have 4 more treatments of DMSO left..frequency is my main problem-- occasionally pain with flare ups..
