I just got the gel packets...a 7 day sample...I was going to wait to start them as my Uro had to take blood work b/c I was having some pain in my kidneys..which turns out could be something really bad called VUR please pray for me its not that....

Anyway...anyone else using these and how is it working for frequency and how bout side effects?

Yes I've been using this. It works very well for me and stops the urgency, spasms, burning, and frequency. It is not constipating for me or overly drying, but does give me some intestinal upset and some nausea. I have been using half a packet, as the whole packet was too much for me.

so you do 1/2 packet per day?

Right now I am using a half a packet every 3rd day. Using the full packet every day was too much for me. I can get away with using it every few days or so. My problem is not so much frequency as it is irritation, burning, and spasms.

I think I am going to try a 1/2 packet today and see what happens....my problem is defiently more frequency than anything...I am going like 14 times a day in a 24 period....my uro says that ALOT the normal person goes like 6-8.

How long did it take for you to notice it working?

i just messed up...i applied it in areas your not allowed to apply in!!! I didnt see that part of instructions..so i tried to wash it off ??

I did the same thing at first! Ha It still worked though, and didn't hurt me. The main thing is to not put it on or near the belly button according to the pamphlet. I used it above my hip towards the back of my butt the first time until I read the directions again. I felt it in about 20 minutes. Good luck with it. I hope it helps your frequency without too many side effects.
I seem to have a problem with nausea with just about anything I take so it's all about finding something with the least amount of nausea causing side effect. I really do hope it works for you but if it doesn't there are about a zillion other ones out there to try.

A super good day for me in 24 hours is about 8-10 times. I don't know if I've ever in my life gone 6. Well maybe when i was a kid and before I had all these problems. But frequency has been with me for as long as I can remember. Once in a while I'll go 3 hours and think WOW but that only happens when I'm on these meds.

I picked up mine too (Gelnique) and will try it this weekend. Did you never have success with the vesicare?

Thanks Earthlady...I wound up washing it immediately off and called the number in the pamphlet...but believe it or not...I think some may have still sunk in b/c about an hour after that I held my pee for 3 hours!!! (but...i also did not drink at all during that time.) I think...I may wind up being like you only needing a little for a few days.

Cindi...I never tried the vesicare b/c of the kidney problems...I am kind of waiting to see what my blood work says...I am actually gonna wait now on the gelnique too..bc last night I woke up soooo nauseous...and I dont know if its from my kidneys...so I dont want anything in my system yet.
