I'm so glad to read this discussion, but I wish I read it before I popped that blue pill in my mouth. I was also prescribed Urogesic-blue by my new urogynocologist. I had a major flare this week, calling her office for the first time under these circumstances on Tuesday morning. Her nurse sent me to the lab for a urine test and I went right away thinking it would be great. I started AZO right after the test because the Urogesic-blue hadn't been filled yet. A day later and no word from the doctor's office and no response to my messages, I tried the Urogesic-blue after the AZO seemed to have worn off, thinking it would be better. But it wasn't working as well , but I was feeling a bit better and I thought maybe it wasn't an infection. I made one more attempt at an online message Thursday...still no contact. Finally Friday morning was told they were waiting for the culture (would have been nice to know), but no doctors were available! And the nurse said I should take the Urogesic-blue not the AZO. Finally late today the doctor called in a antibiotic prescription, so I do have a UTI. When I went to pick it up this evening the pharmacy had a consultation note but they just asked if I had any questions which I didn't. Now I read online that my antibiotic and Urogesic-blue shouldn't be taken together! I had such high hopes for this new doctor. Now I just wish I went to the clinic for the urine test and took my AZO until the antibiotic kicked in. Sorry so long, but I needed to get it out. This post really helped me feel confident that I'm not taking that blue pill anymore. I'm not even sure why she prescribed it. Thanks for sharing your stories so I won't panic about my increased heart rate!
I love Uribel and it has been the only thing that has helped me. Otherwise, I have pain and contractions all the time. I am down to taking one in the morning and only occasionally take an additional one during a flare. I do not take Amitryptyline, but I do take Gabapentin which also helps.
