Can Elmiron help me?

I have a question regarding Elmiron. I’ve had IC for 5 years. It has slowly been getting worse over the years. I do have some issue with food but for me it’s more chemical, things I put on my skin, or body such as creams, soaps, even toothpaste. I don’t want my bladder to get worse. Where I won’t be able to use anything that scares me.
My question is, I’ve read Elmiron helps by coating the bladder but am I to late for this medication to help my bladder?
Please if anyone can help answer my question it’s greatly appreciated.

Elmiron does help some with painful bladder symptoms --- however, as with any medication, I strongly suggest that you investigate the potential for side effects. Some have reported eye problems they feel are related to Elmiron use.
