Yes i have noticed the same thing. but egg whites are alkaline, but if you eat the yellow yoke it's not. Also drink Figi water it has a 7.5 alkaline all other water except evian has acid in it. I have been drinking Figi for 5 days now and it has helped a lot

Actually, it's not the potassium that is the irritant. And it's absolutely essential that we get an adequate amount of potassium in our diets. I wasn't getting enough and I have to take a prescription supplement.

There's information in the Patient Handbook about vitamins, etc., and it includes information about potassium and the potential for problems with deficiency.

    Diet inconsistencies

Has anyone else noted the inconsistencies in the suggested IC diets? For example, it says to stay away from foods high in potassium, i.e. bananas yet says pototoes and brocoli are ok. Also, many of the alternative grains listed as ok are very high in potassium, i.e. quinoa. The acid/alkaline books say rice and eggs are acid producing and the IC diet says these foods are ok.

I feel like I don't know what to eat and I am losing a lot of weight.
