I just wanted to let you ladies know..that I am having MUCH LUCK W/ CYSTOPROTEK..after just 2 days.

Wow. I cannot believe it.

Quickly my Story.
I quit Elmiron 55 days ago..due to hair loss.
I began Aloe Vera in its place..and Elavil at nite.
At day 41..of being off Elmiron..my hair was stilling falling out..I cried horribly...about my hair..quit the Elavil...and Immediately began to Flare.
My doctor called in some Atarax..last sunday ! (best uro in the world)

I am began taking Atarx 50mg 1Xday
Elavil 25mg 1xday

Still trying to get that flare under control.
2 Weeks into the Flare...and after being awake for 4 days straight..I ordered the Cystoprotek. It just arrived yesterday. It says to take 2 pills...Twice Day. I took the 4 pills..as directed yesterday. It is about $40 for a one month supply.

Anyway, and I slept until 9am this morning! I feel great.

By the way...by day 55 of being off Elmiron..the Hair loss has pracitcally stopped. Still comming out a little..but its way way less

That is wonderful! I was wondering about the Cystoprotek, CystaQ... don't have the guts to try those yet.

Hair loss question

Hello Amartaingirl,

I hope you are still doing well. I just started Elmiron and had no problems with it yet. I was wondering how long did it take for your hair to start falling? I'm really scared this is going to happen to me too.

I think it was about a month before my hair started falling our from the Elmiron..I went off it and it took a little while for it to stop. I hope that doesn't happen to you either.

Stopped Elmiron

I also stopped Elmiron after 5 months. My hair was already thin and fine but it really started coming out a month or so ago. I stopped Elmiron and bought some Redkin leave in stuff called Extreme. It really does wonders. I hope the hair loss stops soon. I lost alot above my years and it seems to break off so easy.
I am on amytripthelyne and that helps but issues with weight gain. I am 5'3 and gained 10lbs in 4 weeks. I am not heavy but at this rate won't take long. It changes your blodd sugar level to where all I want is sweets.

hair STOPS falling out...at exactly day 62 of being OFF ELMRION!!

when it will start to grow back...i dont know
but it stops falling at day 62

i dont think i will ever take it again
i suppose i am vain..but i cant go through that again
it just wasn't worth it.

I also had the hair shedding long after stopping Elmiron. The shedding was practically gone after 2 months, but it still kept on to some degree. A friend who is a hair stylist recommended Nioxin. I had heard mention of this and knew it was expensive and probably snake oil. But this friend is a really great stylist and she was adamant that it would stop the shedding.

I didn't buy the shampoo, but got the type you spray on and leave in your hair. Very expensive - $40! I decided to take this expensive gamble. To my amazement, within three days the shedding stopped completely. Whereas I always had two or three hairs in my hands after shampooing, I now had none. And whereas I had a small clump of hair in the drain, I now had absolutely none. I can't believe it worked.

I can't swear it will work for anyone else, but I just thought I would report that it has helped at least one person and my friend said she has seen it work for others with shedding due to medications and hormonal changes. Nioxin is available at most salons and I got mine at a salon in a Walmart.
