  • Cysta Q, Cystoprotek, or Aloe Vera? HELP!

I want to try a natural supplement, but my head is spinning over which one of the three Cysta Q, Cystoprotek, or Freeze-dried aloe vera! Or any other's I haven't mentioned that I also see in the store. Can anyone give me any advice? Thank you.

I did it by trying one at a time. The aloe vera didn't help and from that I went to the cystroprotek which did.

I'm with waterflow on that one. You have to try one at a time to see how it goes. Give at least each one a good chance. Cystoprotek can take 3-4 months to see a difference, but can help sooner. We are all different. I'm on Cysta Q right now, and that seems to be helping me quite a bit. The Cystoprotek helped too, but gave me intense acid reflux. I have yet tried to break open the capsules and drink it with pear juice to see if that helps. Good luck with whatever you try!!!

Yes, I will do that, thank you. I just don't know which one to try first, and I hate taking a million pills! Thanks again.

You are welcome. I would try Cystoprotek first!!

Great, that is what I was leaning toward choosing, since it is similar to Cysta Q anyway, and I don't tend to be sensitive in my stomach to meds.

              Take with Elmiron?

Have any of you taking Cystoprotek with Elimiron at the same time?

Or, been on Elmiron, weaned off and gone to Cystoprotek?

I am intrigued by it all, but scared to death since my Elmiron has given me my life back.

Hi Cyndie...that is the same problem I have right now...I am on Elmiron (for about a month now) and I don't know if I should start something new, for I may not know what is working.

                  my experience

I take 2 elmiron, 3 cystoprotek, femcon fe, and i also take a glucosamine 750mg(vegetarian source). I feel that the cystoprotek helps with the elmiron. Also, the cystoprotek definately helps with allergies.(for me anyway)
                  past meds:
                  elmiron 100mg 3 x a day
                  cystoprotek 6 a day
                  elavil 10 mg
                  Femcon fe
                  non-shellfish vegetarian glucosamine HCL
                  750mg once a day

                    Swarr,

What kind of allergies is the Cystoprotek helping you with? Seasonal?
I suffer from seasonal allergies as well.

I'm glad to see that you aren't having any conflicts with the 2 meds. I am going to check into this further.

                    Thanks!

Yes, It helps with the seasonal allergies. Usually around this time I can't breathe through my nose and my eyes itch horribly. None of that is happening.
                      past meds:
                      elmiron 100mg 3 x a day

I believe the Quercetin in the Cystoprotek is what is what helps for allergies. It is in Cysta Q too, and that's what I take, and it has been steadily helping my IC. Every day I see an improvement.

I started aloe and cystaQ at the same time, and saw a great improvement in two months. In the second month I also started elavil; my doctors know about the herbals that I take, and believe there is no conflict. The elavil is helping a lot with sleep; I'm not sure whether it's helping with pain or not.

One of my doctors now thinks I should try titrating down off of elmiron, if the aloe and cystaQ are doing the job that Elmiron has not managed in two years and a half. I don't really care which one of the two is the bigger help; even if the aloe is not the one that's helping my bladder, it's a rich anti-oxidant and I believe it is helping to build up my immune system. Unfortunately, they are not cheap, but in my case I am fortunate, I can afford to buy them both so I do.

I think I would recommend cystaQ to anyone trying to choose where to start.

I am having great success with Cysta Q as well. Cystoprotek didn't really have as much of a significant effect on my IC, and gave me reflux really bad, but I believe it did help some. I too am at the two month mark, and have started to see a difference. I am not on Elavil though, but I do have a scipt for it. I just was hoping so badly not to have to go that route. I do not do the Aloe either because when I first tried it I flared, and thought that was what was flaring me, but maybe I should try it again. I was wondering too about Cysta Q, and Elavil seeing as there is Valerian, and Passion Flower in it. I'm so happy for you, and please keep us posted of your progress, and I will do the same. I agree Cysta Q is a great place to start, but give it a chance to work. You may not see a difference right away so be patient. ((((hugs))))

OK, we'll have to agree to keep each other updated on this thread.

I am feeling GOOD today; this is probably the first time in six months that I have been able to say that. So I did homework with my daughter, and took her out to get some clothes, and then went with my husband to choose tiles and etc. for a bathroom renovation, and then we all ate dinner out (had a plain hamburger on a bun and a few fries, this meal is always safe for me, but no ketchup). We just got home and it's eight pm. I'm tired, but not really in pain and I ONLY WENT TO THE BATHROOM TWICE THE WHOLE TIME WE WERE OUT. Which was less than five hours, but still...
