  • question about cystoproteck

i just started cystoproteck about two weeks ago. Im not on any other meds right now, as my urologist prescribed elmiron but i want to see if cysto will work first. Has anyone had any help with cystoproteck alone? I figure the only way to know is if i rule it out. im confused because it seems like most people take cysto in addition to other treatments. My urologist also wanted to to dmso treatments but im really wanting to hold back on those. I just got diagnosed, and am trying to figure out which treatment to start.

I'm in the same place you are. On Cystoprotek a couple weeks now, and it has helped quite alot. Being on vacation last week, I "forgot" to take it regularly and paid the price over the last few days. Things are getting better again. The only other thing I'm on is Green Magma and UltraClear pH -- which neutralize acidity. Take one of them 3x/day...but the cystoprotek is what really made a difference.

I really don't want to do the dmso treatments.....they don't always help, sometimes they hurt. So I figure if I'm getting better, even just a bit, I'll hold off on that. IC is the kind of thing that takes time to heal, so I don't plan on rushing into any other treatment (dmso) unless I'm feeling more desparate. Have even thought of getting acupuncture to see if that would help. Anything but having an invasive treatment!

What are your symptoms? Mine is frequency, sometimes urgency, and some abdominal pain. I've had the frequency for 3 years. Really should have had it checked out earlier. Oh, well. We learn the hard way sometimes.

    Good luck...give yourself some time.
