  • Birth control pills

So I'm turning 49 soon and at the age of 50 I have to go off my BCP. I have read IC gets much worse off of the pill...can anyone comment on this? I might ask my doctor to keep me on the pill for longer if this is true.

Does bcp's make your IC better or worse?

IC doesnt necessarily get better or worst with birth control. It depends on the individual. When Im on BC. I find that it doesnt affect my IC. but my PMS flares seem to get a lil better. The only way you will know is when u get off of birth control pills how you respond. talk to your doc about ur concerns. good luck
Diagnosed with IC October 2009- through bladder biopsy (no glomerations or hunners ulcers found, just irritation)

    I have moderate-severe IC

Currently stopped taking all medications due to pregnancy
