  • Aloe Vera

So I got some Aloe Vera 480 mg pure herb capsules and wanted to know how to take this. What does it do, exactly? The bottle says GI support, probably to help me poop or something...

    Thanks!

    Aloe for Bladder Wall

I have only seen research done with the Dessert Harvest brand of Aloe. They have a special patented process for the aloe that they market to IC patients. Their suggested dosage is 3 caps twice daily.

The aloe supposedly helps coat the bladder wall and provide a pseudo mucus lining that we are missing. As it provides this missing lining, it also decreases the constant irritation in our bladders. I haven't read anyone on the list yet who has tried it. Will be interested to see your outcome.

I have drank aloe in the past for intestinal issues. it serves the same purpose of coating the lining after irritation occurs. For me it was after a severe bout of parasites from travel.

I have ordered samples of the Dessert Harvest aloe. Really looking forward to trying it.

    Good Luck

I only use the desert harvest brand because it has been formulated for ICers. I like it alot. Right now I take 3 capsules 2x/day but there have been times when I take them 3x/day. I think its also a natural anti-inflammatory.

I was just going to suggest Desert Harvest brand. My reason for this is that it's been tested on IC patients.

I ordered pure Aloe Vera 480 mg capsules from Puritan's Pride, the Dessert Harvest seemed too expensive. But...I don't know if it was the Aloe or the Dandelion Root I was taking, one of them gave me a terrible flare up which lasted for two days.

I discontinued both of these and felt fine. Anyway, I'm going to give the Aloe another try - this time I ordered the gel. It's supposed to help with GI issues so we shall see.
