Yes, spicy foods are totally off limits to me and probably most IC patients!

Flareup after eating certain hot sauce???

Yes, wouldn't touch hot sauce with a ten foot pole. Just reading the title of your post made my bladder hurt.
That said, one of the worst IC flares I ever had was from a tortilla - turns out it had metabisulfite, citric acid and sorbic acid as preservatives. 3 day horrible flare.
And it looked so darn innocent.... Label reading is essential for IC patients. Sometimes a "safe" food isn't safe, if it has problem preservatives hiding in it.
I hope you feel better soon,

Flareup after eating certain hot sauce???
There is this one restaraunt that I have went to several times. I get the cheese enchaladas so I cannot imagine my problem associated with the beans, tortillas, or cheese. That leaves the hot sauce. I tend to eat a lot of spicy food (usually dehydrated peppers are used at home) and I have never found this to be a problem.
Has anyone had this issue with getting a flareup after eating lots of hot sauce?
Could it be a base they are using in the hot sauce?Tags: None
