  • Dessert Aloe

For anyone interested in aloe vera as a treatment:

I've been taking 6 desert aloe capsules daily for almost 3 months now. I have been doing really well with this. No flares so far. In about 2 weeks I will cut back to 3 daily. I have been really happy with the results. I have even been able to drink a beer on Friday and sometimes on Saturday with no problems. I am really happy I can do this again! I have been tempted to cut back to 3 before the 3 months is over but I am sticking it out. The desert aloe is expensive but I certainly do feel so much better. I will stock up in December when they have a sale and plan to continue taking 3 a day, faithfully. I will add an additional 3 capsules on days I need to but hopefully 3 a day will work most of the time. I highly recommend using the desert aloe as the company suggests, starting with 6 daily for 3 months then tapering down as you are able. For me it works, and no side effects The expense is more upfront but will get cheaper after the first 3 months.

    Hi Lisa,

I am so glad to hear the Aloe is working for you!!

I just ordered a bottle yesterday and am excited to hear it is working for someone!

May I ask what your main symptoms were before starting the aloe? And how long did it take before you noticed improvement?

    Thank you,

    Linda

      Desert Aloe

      Hi Linda,

My symptoms improved very soon after starting the desert aloe. I was feeling a big difference within days. After a month I felt great and I was tempted to cut back to 3 a day due to the cost. I decided to stick it out based on the desert aloe recommendation to give it a full 3 months because I really wanted to see long term improvements. For me, the aloe actually feels soothing to my bladder. I can't think of another way to describe it.

My main symptom is urinary frequency. When I am under a lot of stress and I don't manage my stress well, I have painful flares and even more frequency. Certain foods caused my flares as well, especially beer or any other alcohol. Before I started doing the desert aloe, 6 a day every day, my flares were occurring more and more often. I was also getting up 2-3 times at night to go to the bathroom. Now I get up usually once and sometimes I even sleep through the night without getting up.

I used to use the desert aloe intermittently to cope with flares but I got so frustrated and I knew I needed to do something differently. I follow the diet fairly well, and have for a long time. I have some favorite foods, like dark chocolate, that I eat in moderation. Now I can have a beer once or twice a week and I am really happy about that! Along with the aloe I also recently started making a big effort to manage stress better. I increased how often I do yoga and I try to minimize negative thinking and negative influences around me. It sounds a little quacky, but I am feeling so much better. I want to manage IC with diet and lifestyle and without medication. And all these changes help my overall health so that's a good thing too.
