Hi everyone. I had posted on this board back when I was first daignosed with IC asking about pelvic floor therapy specifically. I didn't end up going b/c of many circumstances. Since then I have switched Doctor's (twice actually!) and my new Doc, who has been great so far and is an IC specialist does think that I have PFD (something other doctors brought up but seemed to know little about) He wants me to avoid traditional Pelvic floor therapies that would involve kegals and feedback b/c my complaint are terrible pain, not much incontinence, and he believes, like many of you had told me that the kegals will make my pain much worse. The problem is that the therapist the recomended to me is almost 2 hours away and right now I cannot drive that far, too much pain and frequency. I would like to try someone closer but do not know where to start. I looked online through the American physical therapist's association. I coudl only find 2 therapists near me that dealt in women's health issues, one didn't seem to know much about PFD, the other is not taking new patients. So I really don't know what to do next. Would it be appropriate to start calling offices and ask about what treatments they provide or would I have to conslut with another doctor? I do have a prescription for up to 12 visist and my insurance company will cover these.
Thanks for the help!
