  • PT excercises hurting already

I havent even started PT and the excercises she gave me are hurting my groin and bladder.

Im just afraid PT is going to make everything worse.

She found my right side of the pelvis is out of alignment and my muscles are all tight, which some of them have been as long as I can remember.

She said it may not cure all of my pain.

I just dont want to backslide and cannot afford to right now.

She was also talking about internal massage and my NP said that wouldnt happen until a lot further down the road :-(

What kind of exercises did your PT give you? I am a PT and because your muscles are tight the exercises might here because you are stretching tight muscles or using muscles that aren't being used to moving in that direction. Just like someone who exercises for the first time they get sore. If you have any other questions feel free to ask

thanks for the info , i will take a look at it,

I had my first session yesterday and im in so much pain in my lower right back, my urine stream is barely a trickle. I doubt i will do much but lay in bed all day. I dont see how this is making me better, i almost took a percocet and i rarely have to take them.

my zanaflex did nothing, it feels like all my muscles are tight and i cant pee, just like it was when i first got this.

Im so upset and scared this made me worse and im going to be like this forever.

I hope you feel better soon. I went to my therapy for IC/PFD for 6 months. It really helped me to understand how pelvic muscles affecting my IC symptoms. My PT was really knowledeable/understanding about IC. I know right now you are very skeptical about how therapy will help you, right?? I was like you. During my therapy session, I felt like my symptoms were getting worse. However, after going through that, I felt much better. Sure some days are better, and other days...not so much. You have to go through some pain before it gets better. Be patient with therapy. You cannot see the results instantly, but you'll see it gradually.

I had physical therapy for the first time last friday for my pelvic floor dysfuntion and psoas muscle spasm. My IC was pretty bad all week and I was in pain. I did my stretches though and my 5 quick kegels everytime before I pee'd. I have to go tomorrow and quite frankly dread it. I know she knows what she is doing though so I have to trust in the long run I will be better for going through it. Hang it there! You have to stick to plan in order for everything to work.

I went yesterday, and she said because of my Lyme disease she isnt sure how my body is going to react. I asked her if my back problem was normal and she said NO mine is very tight....and like she said she cant tell how my body will react.

I couldnt even do 3 steps on the treadmill walking backwards, hurt my lower right back muscle too much :-( I did my excercises afterwards and they hurt too. I took a xanax and was able to sleep better then after the first PT.

its the fact it affects my urination that concerns me :-(

Today, more urination probelms and tightness in my lower back. Its frustrating because i wasnt in pain prior to starting PT, and things were calming down....now its all flared up.

Plus i have my uro appt next wed and if im too sore for internal exam she will yell at me again :-(

Big Red- hope your PT went ok for you today.

                    mich2604.

I just got home from my PT appointment. I am sore but I think I will make it O.K. My PT is very careful about not pushing me to far because she doesn't want my IC to flare up more than it is. She did Diathermy which I thought with the Inter-stim implant I was not suppose to have so I am going to reserch that further. Got sent home with exercised to do every day and some more than once a day along with the pool aerobics. Will see how this all goes together. She also did Vaginal message I think that hurt worse than anything. Will I am going to relax this afternoon as I have a church function to be at and work at tonight at 5:00 until about 9:00. I can't take Valum becase I have to drive to the church. I can't take Motrin because of the dilation surgery just incase he gets an earlier opening. So I guess I will try a couple extra strength Tylenol.

Hope you have a good day. My next appoint is Thurs of next week. When is yours.

                    Hope you feel better.

Hi Big Red! Yes, take some Tylenol, that will probably help you. Did you know Ibuprofen is acidic and bad for your bladder? That's what my urogyn told me.

I had PT this morning. We did tons of core exercises and PF exercises. My laundry list of things to do at home are getting more and more extensive. I have stretching to do twice a day and now strengthing once a day. I still have to do 5 "quick flick kegals" everytime before I pee.

I feel GREAT today. I don't know why. Its 2:30 and I haven't taken a single pain reliever which is like a miracle. I even had strawberry jam twice and steak with Worchestire Sauce on it last night. (Didn't know the cook had put Worc. on it b/c I was told by another source there was nothing on it...when I found out I nearly had a heartattack b/c I've been SO careful!)

Anyway, I'm enjoying my pain free day cause I don't know what later or tomorrow brings!!!

My next appt. for PT is next Thursday the 22nd. Oh, we are doing any internal work until my external is stronger she said. Can't wait for the inside stuff YUK.

I just learned from medtronics that we should not have done the Diathermy. I found it on there web site so now I have proof. Med-tronics said that if I had anything that seemed abnormal to give them a call. We could fry my inside from it or at least the leads. Hope we didn't do any harm.

I had to quit PT because it was making all of my IC worse. The only thing that did help was the laying down for 1/2 listening to the tape and relaxing the muscles. Was supposed to do that 2 times a day but I don't have time to be laying down for 1/2 hour twice a day.

WOw bigred i hope you dint injure anything either. Make sure you mention this to your PT next week. I will be sending healing thoughts your way that nothing happens.

Im getting tighter as the day goes on. I know there should be some pain, but again its tough because I wasnt in pain before PT in these areas.

My next appt is next Friday (only going once next week due to other dr appts) I hope that you are able to make it to your church function.

Soccermom-glad to hear that you are feeling good after PT. Im glad that it seems to have helped you.

My PT said we are holding off on the internal too, but yesterday she wanted to do internal since my external is not tolerating PT all that well. I said i didnt want the internal, just getting an exam at my uro kills me!!! Im already in enough pain.

Its snowing here today, and im sure thats why im getting stiff, i feel like the tinman
