  • Yippeeeee! I have wee wee flooding!

Well, so far each time I have gone wee wee I have been peeing an ocean. :woohoo: Seems like an ocean to me but doubt it really is an ocean full. Been so long I have forgotten what a normal amount is but I can feel the bladder emptying which I haven't been able to before. Doesn't last long but hey what a start for the first good PT day. :woohoo:

        Yay!! That's awesome waterflow!
I know you had been having some more problems lately, its good to hear you're encouraged and feeling a little better

I was feeling like that for about 2 months until a couple days ago when I drank a bunch of beer two days in a row. Apparently I DO have a food sensitivity after all! Guess I'll have to avoid beer

Now if only I can get myself back to where you are!!
        Keep up the good progress!
        Diagnosed with IC: October 2006

Related diagnoses: PFD, chronic back pain, vulvodynia, IBS, anxiety.

        Treatment:
        Lots of water
        Fiber, when I can remember...
Elmiron (I'm down to 200mg per day)
Kegels (10 sets of 10 second holds per day)
        Yoga and Pilates, each weekly
        Exercise 3x weekly

        Have tried:
PT for PFD and chronic back pain (VERY helpful)
IC diet (I'm not diet-sensitive while on Elmiron)

Well, it was only for that day but still better one day then none. I am interested to see how it goes on Tuesday. I will say with each passing day since Friday I am going back down hill. Haven't done the treadmill at all today. Just too much pain and feeling sick from the pain as well.

You know how your parents were when you learned to go wee wee on your own?? I keep thinking of that and sure wish I had one of those children musical potties. Well, I think I should have another wee wee party. Bring your own toilet paper.

froelica, hopefully things will go back to normal for you after the bladder has time to get over the beer. Why is it the few things we really like to drink or eat are the worse for our bladders?

            waterflow,
I know the feeling.I have had a few days like that in the past and was elated to be able to a- have a strong flow b- not be waiting ages to pee and c - actually have a decent amount to pee!

How does pelvic therapy work for IC? Could anyone explain that to me?
sorry have been on this forum for ages, but don't know about the pelvic floor therapies..
I know when my doc did a pelvic exam, all was fine but was having a good few days. Sometimes I find that all the muscles are almost tight and painful hence baths help and that when IC plays up, have a much weaker flow/stream and a little hesitancy as well as pain.

I do have days when things are fine down there, but others things can get really tender ie can normally never wear tampons at all but the day I had the pelvic exam was one day when I could!

I think what my point is - do you have to have pfd to benefit from pelvic therapy?
I know I have issues with it but always hoped it would improve as IC does....

I don't have PFD. I am going for the IC pain. All I know right now is that the muscles tighten up and everything is all connected. I think even in the back area affects the bladder. Right now I am doing quiet breathing for 20 minutes a day where you try and relax the muscles as much as you can through your whole body. So far it helps while I am doing it but as soon as I get up the pain is right back.

                  Muscle wars

Good for you waterflow! Keep peeing!
PFD is a problem in peeing because the bladder and urethra are trying to contract and empty and the pelvic floor is tightening instead of relaxing, hence problem pee's. Sort of a war of the muscle contractions with each set trying to do something different and not working in synergy.
