Here are the three things I know that are supposed to help: 1) follow a low oxalate diet, 2) calcium citrate to bind the oxalates at every meal and 3) mucinex every day is supposed to help, I do all 3 and it seems like its mostly gone for now. Sounds strange but google it, there is alot of information on it.
Hope you feel better!

So helpful
Thank-you Cindi, and everyone for your help. This VV tenderness goes on all day long and it is so uncomfortable and irritating. I have been standing (and walking) so much today that my legs are super tired! I am going to look into the low oxalate diet. I will try anything right now...

I know exactly what you're talking about. I had vv tenderness for 2 years and now it has mostly gone away. Have you tried the low oxalate diet? Once I quit eating berries which are high in oxalates it finally seems to have subsided. But recently I introduced them back into my diet because they're ok for IC and low and behold I'm feeling a little uncomfortable again. Also calcium citrate at each meal is supposed to help with the oxalate levels.

DKIM,
I couldn't sit for at least one year,, I stood eight hours a day at work, but now I can sit at least two hours. I think it is PFD and PT helped me the most.

The pillow available in the ICN Shop works well for my IC --- I don't have VV, but it seems like if you could take the pressure off the perineal area (which the cushion does) might help.

Just curious, has anyone tried sitting on those big exercise balls? Of course no one wants to break their neck to get relief, but maybe? Will have to try that and will let you all know. If it works for birth contractions, maybe it will help? Jill, wife of Bob

The VV
Thanks, Briza...did you take anything that helped your VV? Maybe I can suggest it to my Uro on my next visit? My family doctor just gave me some cyclobenzprine (Flexeril) for my PFD. I took 1/2 of the 10mg pill one evening and it made me sleep the whole time. I didn't really like that. Sometimes it can be just a small irritation (if I am not sitting or the cushion is soft) but it feels nervy so it bugs me all day.

So much pain from sitting?
I guess this could be from the PFD that I have going on, but I can be fine all day, walking around and standing up, but the minute I sit down, then I get a irritated/nerve kind of pain (when I get up again, it gets better but the irritation stays and then I feel like I have to urinate), could this be from the PFD or is this a common part of IC, or maybe something else? I just don't get it...yet.....Tags: None
