  • what dosage of low dose valium are people taking?

I am currently doing internal and external pelvic floor therapy, and yes I am a mess. My PM doctor gave me 2mg valium (oral) once a day. This is clearly not enough, I don't really feel any decrease in pain. I was wondering what doses most people with PFD are taking? Thanks

That does sound like a low dose. Most people I know use 5mg oral or 10mg vaginal, but hopefully someone on here will come in with their experience and what dosage they use. I used .5 Ativan with my pelvic floor spasms and it worked very well for me before I got in to see the pelvic therapist.

I use valium vaginally, 10 mg twice a day. I've never taken it orally, so I don't know much about what dosage would be common.

I was just prescribed DIAZEPAM 5MG SUPP to use during my period. I have a horrible problem when I have my period I have the worst time peeing, I have to really struggle to get the urine to come out. I also have no frequency issues or no burning. I have endometriosis but am trying to get pregnant so I'm not taking the birth control pill to suppress my endo right now. I had spotting this week because I took 1 birth control pill last week thinking I wanted to throw in the towel but then changed my mind hence the spotting. Anyways, I took the suppository last night to help me to pee and it didn't do a darn thing. How long does it take usually before you see results?

Different people react differently to valium. I took 2 mg for severe neck pain and it really helped --- 5 mg made me too groggy. I have been given 10 mg as a pre-op medication and went to sleep on the way to surgery.

I take 5mg vaginally at night. You have to have the brand, the generic doesn't melt like the brand does. Taking at night also helps you sleep and prevents some of the grogginess.

I believe I have no choice but to have the generic. I emailed the pelvic pain dr. and he said try 2 at once so I am trying that now. I'm also going for a urine culture tomorrow just to make sure I don't have a bladder infection.

if you have your doctor write in the RX that's it's brand necessary, then the health insurance company covers it. my doctor says shes found the generic tablet doesn't dissolve, and doesn't really work well when inserted vaginally. if you take orally, i'm sure the brand/generic doesn't matter.

you can also have suppositories specially compounded with the valium. that way you don't have to worry about the brand vs generic.
