I am going right now. Tomorrow will be my 2nd visit. However,I was going a few years ago on a regular basis.

My PT does trigger point releases. She goes in vaginally, starts at 12:00 and goes all the way around and presses on any trigger points that are tight. It really helps me and depending on how bad you PFD is, it will depend on how many visits you will need. She also gives me homework, which is gentle stretching. This is to be done at your own tolerance and very slowly. I do not know if every PT does it differently, but this is what mine does. It does not hurt me, it does sting a bit but I am extremely tight right now.

    Good luck.

I had the internal release work done also. For me the first few sessions were painful, but after the muscles loosened up the rest of the sessions were ok and I did benefit from it. I was having pelvic floor muscle spasms and the pt along with stretches I did at home worked very well. My pt also used the tens unit on my pelvic and sacral area, did a lot of massage work on my belly and sacrum.

Yes, earthlady, I forgot about that, my PT does massage on my abdomen also. I have had 10 operations due to women complications and finally a total hysterectomy, so I have a ton of scar tissue there. She tried the Tens unit & it gave me an IC flare.

I had my 2nd PT appointment today and it went really well, she massaged my abdomen as well as my legs and man did it feel great. She also put a tens unit on and I loved it, I was pain free for 2 hours. She did mention on Wednesday at my next appt we would talk about getting one for home. Since I'm not one to take pain meds I think this is my next step to combat the pain.

Glad to hear your session went well. I loved the tens unit on my belly. My pelvic area felt so relaxed and calm afterward. My pt showed me how to massage my belly in a circular motion but it doesn't feel as good when I do it myself. I have a tens unit at home and it really comes in handy.

I agree Earthlady, the massage she gave my abdomen and legs was great.

I am in MA and had a bad experience with second pt I went to. Who are you seeing in MA. Doc exam didn't hurt, first pt didn't hurt. Second pt cause first one isn't available often left me in hell for two days. Holiday wknd so I have to wait to see what will happen.

I'm so upset I'm in tears. Should have gone to E.R. but it was middle of night.
