    PT put me into remission

PT put me into remission 3 years ago. I had frequency, urgency, urethral pain and bladder spasms all coming from the pelvic floor and the psoas and end of piriformis muscle.
I still have problems with the piriormis muscle but not the part that ends in the pelvic floor. Piriformis gets irritated if I work out to hard in the gym and in particulair with the eliptical trainer. Your habitual body mechanics and leg placement (like in recliner) have everything to do with the pelvic floor acting up.

    Sammi

Meds: Melatonin 3mg @ bedtime if needed. Estrogen 1.5 mg troche and 0.1 mg Estrace cream.
Diagnosis: IC, PFD (both in remission)

Yay! Do you think maby you just had PFD?

      Glad your feeling good.

      Jenn
      28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

Ok, so now I am worried. I have pretty sever PFD and was actually told to go back to my eliptical - which I love. Is it only a problem if you work too hard? I hate to give it up after just going back, but if it causes problems I will switch to something else.

Judy -- my PT has recently started including the elliptical into my sessions with her. She said that it's fine as long as you listen to your body and don't do too much too fast. It does sound like you've already gotten advice, but maybe you could contact your doctor/PT to ask how exactly you should ease back into it?
