Does this sound like PFD?

If the PT you went to was qualified to make a diagnosis and knows what s/he is doing as far as how to treat you, I'd go back and begin sessions. There is really no other way to reduce PFD symptoms and pain unless you see a good PT. Medications and other things like injections can help, but PT is really the key, at least in my opinion.

Does it feel as if your pelvic floor is locking up, like you are stuck in a kegel exercise? My PFD required me to cath for months. I suggest finding a good biofeedback physical therapist who deals with IC patients. Mine helped me start to pee on my own again after months. Are you having a hard time getting your stream started? If you're real locked up, try getting in warm tub and pee in the bath if all else fails. I used to do exercises she taught me like lying in bed on my back and flexing my thighs with straight legs for ten seconds, release ten seconds, repeat a couple of minutes. Then go pee. Prop your feet up further apart on books and lean your elbows over on knees. RELAX, do not force push. Be patient and hopefully it will work! Good luck!

Does this sound like PFD?
Hi,
I'm having a very difficult time understanding what's going on with me right now. I've been under an incredible amount of stress (probably the most ever in my life) since my mom died a month ago. My bladder has actually been feeling pretty good lately.. was having trouble with bladder spasms but finally got on vesicare and levsin which have helped a lot. But now, the past couple days I've been experiencing what I think are urethral spasms after urination (usually the first one in the morning after waking up is the worst). They don't happen all the time, mostly just in the morning and they last for like a few minutes to an hour. It feels like a pinching or stabbing off and on, especially if I try to relax my pelvic floor (I'm chronically contracting it and never realize it). I've been having vaginal burning the past few days too but I'm pretty sure it's not an infection. I have been to one PT session where she did diagnose me with PFD.. said I have extremely tight pelvic floor and abdominal muscles and that I can't fully relax my pelvic floor on my own. Anyway, I've just been freaking out because I already suffer from horrid anxiety and I'm always worrying it's something serious.. so if this sounds like pelvic floor spasms, please let me know.Tags: None
