    Ureteral reimplantation

    I don't know where else to post this. It's completely unrelated to IC but I'm going to have to have the surgery done and I'm wondering if anyone else has had to have this surgery. I know it's not very common in adults and everything I've read about the surgery is awful! I'm dreading it but my dr said with all of the damage I have to my kidney if I don't have it done, my kidney will end up shutting down. Hoping someone can share their personal experience!

    (For those who don't know the surgery is done to fix kidney reflux, I currently have stage 4)

    October 2005 with IC
    June 2010 with endometriosis
    August 2013 stage 4 kidney reflux
    Chronic UTIs


    I have been without insurance for several years but luckily I just got it back. Curently only treatment is Heparin instills done weekly.

    I can't relate to your problem but my thoughts and prayers are with you.
    Tried Elmiron, Elavil, Atarax, Botox...with no success and/or adverse reactions.

    Current: self administered bladder installations (down to 2x a day per dr advice), Lamictal, Lexapro, Lorazepam, Zyrtec occasionally, Prelief, Tramadol, Oxycodone, Trimethoprim at bedtime, Gabapentin, Omeprazole, Flector patch, Tens Unit, warm baths, other forms of heat therapy, IC diet, Gluten/Wheat free diet, vitamins and Premarin because of hysterectomy and osteoporosis.

    Have difficulty getting pain under control from IC and other health issues. I've pretty much accepted it as part of my life.

    I am thankful for supportive family and friends. Not everyone is supportive all of the time, but I am so thankful for the support I do receive.

    I pray for healing for all and for a cure.

        where are they going to reimplant the ureters? when they do a cystectomy and create either an ileal conduit or an internal pouch, the ureters are also reimplanted into either the pouch or the conduit. I have had both these surgeries, and hod no issues with my ureters afterwards, BUT i didn't have the same problem. Good luck!
