Glad to hear Kara is doing well after the surgery. Keep us posted and I will try to get a card out to her. Hopes it gets to the hospital in time. Sure they will forward it to her. Prayers go out to Kara. Luv Carol

    UPDATE ON KARA (6/17)

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to update you all on how Kara is doing

I saw her the day after surgery and although it will be a slow process of healing, she is recovering well. One of the first things she said to me when I asked her how she was feeling was;" NO MORE URGENCY AND FREQUENCY!" Although she was dealing with incision pain, all normal, and a sensitivity to medications, they did have it under control. As many of you know from reading her posts, her worst problem was urgency and frequency and she had it 24/7. Even with all the many meds she's tried as well as all the treatments available, she just couldn't get it under control.

The little I know about the doctors report from what her Mom said, she had a very diseased bladder. It was so scarred and shriveled and held less than two tablespoons of urine. She had made the right decision. The doctor had examined the bladder before removal and would have left it in place otherwise.

As I mentioned in my other post, only a very small percentage of ICers have IC that is progressive. Believe me I know many and most have their symptoms under control. I have a dear friend that has had IC for 60 years and hers has never gotten worse. Her diet and treatments have helped her immensely.

Many of you have mentioned finding a way of sending a card. I think if you want to do that, you could send it to her in the hospital. She will be there for at least 5 more days. She would love to hear from you all
