can they cut the nerves to the urethra without haveing your bladder removed? I saw that KAra said they cut the nerves to her urethra and I was wondering if they could do it without the bladder removal or would that make you be incontent the whole rest of your life?

I don't know, but I have been wondering this too! I am hoping it is possible. I'm seeing my doctor on Monday and I'm going to ask but I'm afraid she's going to automatically say that's impossible. But maybe it's only a really specialized skill. I don't really understand how they can do it though without losing continence. And how come they don't just do it more often? Well maybe someone else will know...
I don't think they can cut the nerves to the urethra while you still want to use your bladder. You could become incontinent but I take Ditropan for that now. This is an excellent question for a great IC surgeon. When I see my new uro next week I will ask him for you!

There was one of the girls who use to post and she had the nerve cut that sends the pain message to the brain and she was completely thrilled. She was even able to go back to work.
Hugs to ALL~

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".
I just moved, so we had to switch internet providers and I lost all of my old email. As soon as I get a new email address I will email you or you can email me. I will let you know!!!
Take Care Today!
