• HELP!

To anyone that has had their bladders removed and replaced with intestinal tissue:

I am having some trouble. REAL trouble. I am inbetween docs as I have just moved. I woud like to know the difference between bladder spasms and intestinal/bowel spasms. I don't have a working email at the moment. I was curled up in so much pain I could hardly breath. I don't have an appointment with my new uro until next week as I don't have a car yet. I don't know where to turn...........

Kara

I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Is there a pain clinic near where you live? Temporarily, could you get pain relief from a hospital er or urgent care? I hope you get relief soon. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hi Kara I just had to answe your post, because when others post, you are always so sweet and sincere...I am soooo sorry that you are in pain, and not seeing the uro soon enough. Perhaps the emergency room, or a call to the uro, explaining that you are too sick to wait. I sincerely wish I could take your pain away ( heck, I might as well take your pain, I am so uncomfortable lately, that I don't even think some more would kill me! Anyhow, I wish you the very very best, and really hope that you can get an earlier appointment. Do you have any painkillers to help you? Please know that you are, and will be in my thoughts and prayers! Feel better soon Kara, Sheri
Wishing you the best, today, tomorrow, and always! Sheri G

Thanks for replying Ladies!

I have an appointment with my new primary care doc tomorrow. I have tons of pain killers to take if I need to use them. I have pretty much stayed in bed since that episode happened. I'm back to feeling normal again. It was scary as
H*** though and I don't want it to happen again!
I will let you all know what my new uro says next week. I pray that it doesn't happen again before that!

Thanks for your support!

Kara, have you ever been diagnosed with IBS? My daughter and I both have it and it is very painful at times. My daughter even fainted once due to the pain when her intestine twisted.

Jo Ellen,

I will ask my doc about that when I see him. I never had IBS, but with them cutting a foot of my intestines off to make a new bladder, I may have developed it along the way. What do they give for IBS?

Thanks for your advice!

Kara, sorry it taken me so long before answering. I had a kidney infection and just got out of the hospital today. Because your new bladder is now bowel, technically you are having bowel spams. As I undersand it. When I first had my surgery I used to get them all the time and there are lots of drugs out there for bowel spasms. You may want to ask the new uro about Bentyl,or even trying Immodium. I do however think that before self treating, since your surgery is still new, you need to get professional advice.Hope you are feeling better. Judith
