  • Remove bladder with no pain and only with urgency sensation?

Hi, my g-friend got IC. She now considers a bladder removal. She does not have pain only urgency. Anyone knows of anyone who removed bladder without pain and only with urgency sensations?
    Thanks.

There are many different medications that will help with the urgency --- and the IC diet can help with that as well. Most physicians will not consider bladder removal until all other treatment options have been tried and failed.

I hope she feels better soon.

I think you will find with a bit of reseach you will find this is not a reason for bladder removal.

Removal is usally reserved for the most adance cases of IC.

Removal is a very hard recovery.

Removal also does not guarentee you won't get ic in your new bladder.

I doubt she would find a uro, who would do this.

She needs to get on the diet, and start some of the meds and lifestyle changes first line of diffence to start getting some relief.

        Hi Donna,
        Thanks for your help.
We've tried all the meds (i mean all, including all types of instillations, Elmiron for few years, Amytriptiline, benzos, opiates, etc, not a single med was not tried). We have second Interstim attempt in few weeks. She just had cystoscopy and they notice the bladder lost most capacity.
I do want to maybe put her in touch with someone to talk to? Im neither proponent nor oponent to the the removal proceedure, im just trying to gather enough info to have her make right decision.
        THanks!
